Our Life: It's CHRISTMAS!

CHRISTMAS WEEK…

TUESDAY: Marvin and Carolyn came in town that evening, and we had a great time catching up, eating dinner, and drinking a little wine. {Also...got a flu and H1N1 shot at work today…which left me not feeling well later that night.}

WEDNESDAY: I went to work, but had to leave early, because I was still pretty sick from the flu shots from the previous day. I went over to Chris and Ash’s to rest, and they both took such good care of me. My wonderful mother came to get me and take me to a clinic…we got there 3 minutes after it closed…but the doctor was still there to help us, which was so nice. My mom took me back to our house…and I watched TV with Carolyn and MaMa…while my mom headed to the Locke Family Christmas. Yes…the most disappointing thing about being sick…I missed the Locke Christmas…and I heard everyone was there this year…well except me…hopefully I won’t have to miss another one.

THURSDAY aka Christmas Eve: I woke up feeling great and back to normal…which was a wonderful blessing! I headed over to Green Hills to pick up a few last minute gifts, and then headed home to see my family and get cleaned up for Christmas Eve dinner. My mom made salad, lasagna, and coconut cake…so delicious! We hung out, ate, drank, and Ashley and Chris opened Grady’s gifts. It was so much fun to see what cute things we all got him…babies are my favorite to shop for…cannot wait to spoil my favorite nephew! =) After everyone went to bed, I stayed up with my parents to watch Four Christmases…none of us stayed awake for the entire movie…but we didn’t start it until after 11.

FRIDAY = CHRISTMAS: It was a day of family, friends, annual breakfast, presents, stockings, and SNOW…we had it all on Christmas day! Every year my mom makes an amazing breakfast for us all. All my grandparents come over, and my aunt and uncle are usually with us {luckily they were this year}. My mom did most of the cooking, but we all contributed. We had breakfast casserole (Strata), hash brown casserole, grits casserole, ham, biscuits, gravy, bacon, fruit, and my favorite…Bloody Marys. After breakfast…all extremely stuffed after that wonderful breakfast…we gathered around and opened presents. I LOVED everything I received…thank you so much my lovely family! We did stockings last…which are my favorite! We changed up the way we do stockings this year…and we added two in the mix…Grady and Sam. We all bought something for each person’s stocking…which was so much fun.

My grandmother left around 1pm…and by the time she got back home…Carolyn and Marvin left for Pulaski to spend the rest of Christmas with the Moore family. I left a little after C and M to head to Bham, and got in town around 6:30pm. Sam and I went over to Daniel and Lauren’s house to spend Christmas with his family. We had a great time…and afterward we headed back to Sam’s house to have our own little Christmas. We just exchanged stockings this year since we are going to Denver in a few weeks…but the stockings were so much fun!!
