Friday – Kelly and I flew to Denver, CO to spend the weekend with Marky. It has been over a year since he moved out west…and since we had seen him…so it was an overdue reunion for us. He was waiting for us inside the airport with a sign with our names on it…so precious!! We got our bags and headed to Mark’s place to freshen up before dinner…at the very interesting…Root Down. We definitely warned Mark that we probably wouldn’t like this restaurant…but he insisted that everyone loves it…well leave it to two southern girls to not like the organic food we ordered…and we tried a lot on the menu. However, we loved the mojitos! We were tired after working all day and then traveling…so we headed back to Mark’s place and hung out before hitting the sack.
Our wonderful welcome sign!

Saturday – We got up early and headed to Moe’s Bagels for breakfast…which was delicious! I got a plain bagel with bacon and egg on it…my favorite! After breakfast…we headed to Cherry Creek to enjoy a full day of shopping…our first stop was of course…Nordstrom. We shopped all around the mall and ventured to the outside stores too. Later that afternoon…we went to North for lunch and cocktails…and to discuss our lives and get a little advice from each other. We walked around and shopped a little more before heading back home to freshen up for dinner at Houston’s…which was amazing! After dinner, we went out on the town! Very fun night!

Sunday – Our last full day…and we had planned to go tubing…but we woke up with the ground covered in snow…so we figured it was not a good time to drive up a mountain in Mark’s Passat. So…Mark and Kelly went to pick us up breakfast…amazing breakfast burritos…and then we all got ready and headed out in the snow to an outlet mall. We were a little disappointed in the mall…but we found a few things. We headed back to grab some lunch at Snarfs…a wonderful sandwich hot spot. I especially loved it, because they had ice cream…so Kelly and I got some. After lunch, we drove around Denver…and Mark showed us a lot…and where he wants to buy a house and such. We of course went by the SSI office…and then Mark told us about this place that sells the best ice cream in town…so of course…we had to go…and Kelly and I got ice cream for the second time in less than an hour….haha! We went back to Nordstrom to look around…and then headed back to Mark’s place. We lounged around and enjoyed our last afternoon together…oh and we watched a little thing called the Super Bowl. We went to a sushi restaurant at half time for dinner and to finish watching the game. After dinner…we had a little snowball fight before heading back to Mark’s to get ready for bed and our very early flight.Governor's Mansion

Monday – Got up at 4:00am MST to catch our 6:30am flight. We got back to Nashville around 11:00am CST. Our flight was delayed about 30 minutes, because our plane had to be defrosted….my first defrosting experience…so I was intrigued and taking it all in. Headed back to the office after a fabulous weekend!
