Tis the Season!

What a great weekend! Sam came in town Friday night for the SSI Christmas Party at The Hermitage Hotel. This was my first time at the famous hotel, and it was amazing. I felt like I was in New York City...which made me so happy. The hotel was so beautiful, and the food was delicious {loved the carving station}! Of course...we checked out the famous men's bathroom...which was nice, but nothing too special. The hotel was decorated so beautifully for Christmas, and was just what I needed to get me in the Christmas spirit. Merry Christmas Everyone!! 9 day countdown...

Merry Christmas Everyone!

After the Christmas party, we went to meet some friends at Broadway Brewhouse. My good friend, Adam, is home for a few weeks, so I wanted to stop by and see him. I also got to see a few other friends that had not seen in a while...which was really nice!

On Saturday, Sam and I headed back to Birmingham to enjoy the rest of our weekend. We got there around 5:30PM, rented some movies for the the weekend, and picked up Chick-fil-A for dinner. That night we watched Julie & Julia...very cute movie...at least what I saw of it...missed the last 30 minutes or so because I fell asleep....oops!
The next morning, we slept in...yay...and then got ready, and headed over to The Summit...my favorite place in Birmingham. They have wonderful shops and restaurants over there. We ate at PF Changs for lunch, and then headed over to Barnes and Noble to browse for a little while. I just love being in bookstores! Hard to beat buying a Starbies latte...and then just browsing the aisles looking at books and such! We got back to Sam's house in time to watch the Titans' game...which was a big win! At half time...we headed out to Homegoods, TJ Maxx, and Walmart...to look for Christmas decorations, and pick up dinner. When we got back home, Sam decorated the tree and I cooked...well not sure you can call it cooking...just made a salad and put a frozen pizza in the oven...but it was delicious. Sam and I have the most delicious salad we like to make often. You should try it...all you need is....lettuce, one granny smith apple, craisins, chopped walnuts, gouda cheese, Italian dressing, and balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Mix it all up...and you will love it...as long as you like all the ingredients going in the salad! =) **We ate our dinner for the first time at a kitchen table in Sam's house....it was a big deal!** After dinner we finished decorating the tree and watched The Christmas Shoes...it was good...but so sad.
There is one ornament on the tree that is very special to us. It is the one we got in New Orleans...our first little vacation together. I am going to follow what my parents and Ash & Chris have done...which is get an ornament from every place they travel to...so hopefully we will have many more in the years to come!
We both took Monday off work...to have a long weekend together....so on Monday we went to Dale's for lunch (one of my favorites in Hoover), and then Sam took me to the airport around 2:00PM and my sweet Momma picked me up around 4:00. What a FABULOUS weekend!!
